More than 60 horseback riders took part in the event which started at the Edenfield stables south of town late Sunday morning, Only a few of the leader^s of the groun knew the riders’ destination. Starting from Edenfield the riders weni around the east end of Casper and across mystery bridge, Participants, in the dark as to their destination, searched every gulch and ditch In hopes to discover the feed in store for them before leaders of the party could reveal the destination. The group finally ended up at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Charles Dougherty on the Salt Creek high­ way, north of town, near the airport. There refreshments were served. Because of the success of the ride plans are now under way to hold such a ride twice a year, in the fall and again in the spring. Minty was a livestock broker out of Casper, WY. His office was located in the lobby of the Henning Hotel. Researchers will find letters and telegrams exchanged between Minty and Draper and Draper Incorporated Wool out of Boston, Massachusetts among other items of potential interest to the sheep and wool industry in Wyoming during the 1930s. Minty's papers consist of correspondence, data on Wyoming sheep ranchers from 1934, correspondence in regard to the Careyhust Ranch from 1937-1939, information on a Wind River Day School lamb sale, as well as ledgerbooks, settlement slips, bills of sale, contracts, agreements, and more. These records date from the late 1920s to the late 1930s.
