This collection contains the digitized letters of two Sheriffs--Thomas Brady (Atlantic City and Lander), and Harry Willis (South Pass City)--that date back to Wyoming statehood. The letters contain pieces of commercial and service-related correspondence, letters from concerned citizens, and historic wanted posters. The material in this collection of letters spans from 1888 to 1933.

Description
An account of the resource
Site of extensive development by the Casper Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. Cottonwood Bay Recreation Area on the Bureau of Reclamation`s Alcova Reservoir is a popular gathering place during the summer months. This photograph is part of a collection that consists of photographs and negatives created and/or used by the Casper Star Tribune from 1967 until the middle of 1995 according to a newspaper article on the donation from February of 2000. In the words of Special Collections Curator, Kevin Anderson, the photographs in this collection serve to document "events in our own lives, events in our own history." There were 19,000 envelopes that were gifted to the repository, which totaled between 330,000 and 460,000 images. Images in this collection may support the use of other collections in the repository or vice versa.

The Jack Rosenthal Map Collection consists of 27 framed maps archived by the Casper College Western History Center. Jack Rosenthal was a businessman who worked in radio and television. He was also a historian and collector and lived in Buffalo, Wyoming. The Jack Rosenthal Family of Casper donated these maps to Casper College.

An 1881 County and Township map by S.A. Mitchell of Philadelphia. Seven counties are shown in Wyoming, the map not reflecting that the legislative assembly had changed the name of Pease Country to Johnson, two years earlier. Fort Mc Kinney is incorrectly located north of Lake Desmet.

Description
An account of the resource
This collection consists of reproductions of 15th century to 18th century manuscripts. Researchers will find copies from the French Book of Hours, leaflets, missals, and pages from various texts including Euclid's Elements and the Gutenberg 42-line Bible. This material was collected by W.R. Stephenson who was a Principal at Casper Junior High School from 1925 to 1951. Stephenson may have been interested in teaching lettering to students of the Junior High. It is the repository's aim that students at Casper College and beyond can use these collected reproductions to learn lettering and practice graphic design.
