    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Photograph of the Casper Fire Department Station. Fire fighters pose on a wagon outfitted with fire fighting equipment, the predecessor of the mechanical fire truck pictured to the left of the wagon. The photo was made for the Casper Townsite Company by Wiswall, Denver. The image is undated but was likely taken between 1912 and 1914. The Frances Seely Webb Collection contains over 1,400 photographs, correspondence, handwritten research notes, the proof copy of Webb&#039;s book, Casper&#039;s First Homes, and a series of scrapbooks. Materials documents Casper buildings, cultural institutions, homes, and society from 1890-1978. Also included are photographs of individuals and groups visually documenting Casper society. In addition are items originally collected by Boney Earnest, a frontiersman and former member of the Natrona County Historical Society. Subjects documented in Webb’s correspondence, notebooks, and scrapbooks include things related to her ongoing research, obituaries, Casper and Natrona County homes, businesses, and cultural institutions.]]></dcterms:description>

Schuler for the Works Progress Administration in 1937. The photographs are of the buildings and grounds at Fort Caspar. The funeral was arranged by John Beaton who is seated next Shorty Castle on the hearse. The photograph was taken to send to McKenzie&#039;s mother in Scotland so she would know her son received a Christian burial.
