Samuel Orr
I’ve heard that colors sing to any ear that listens
And paint a song in their spectrum
A prismatic performance of shimmering harmonies
Preserved in the present where they forever will stay
But I’ve never heard their tinks and tines
Never the blue breeze brushing against my face
Or the verdant chords of deep evergreen
No,
Only the color quiet
She is silence sounding out her sorrow
Deafening those who love her so
But she is not my love
No, her steady scream has not stuck my heart
Yet here I live, here I am stolen
A captive of her love, prisoner and heir to the riches of her solitude
Awaiting the coming of the colors
When her screaming shall cease and most magnificent symphony will surround me
But I must wait patiently for that day
As the moon waits calmly in her night
Ever hoping for her love
Ever chasing the sun above
