Black and white photograph of an oil well near Bessemer, Wyoming. Walter A. "Doc" Blackmore is the man driving the team in the image. A description of the oil well is included. Walter A. Blackmore (1863-1923) had come to Bessemer, Wyoming from Flint, Michigan, in 1888 where he established a drug store. In 1893, he moved to his family to the Casper area.
