Description
Photograph of a tightrope walker balancing above Center Street in Casper, Wyoming. The Natrona County Court House can be seen at the end of the street in the background. Chuck Morrison would later write of the event: "Walking the tightrope: A daredevil tightrope walker stretched a wire between the Midwest Hotel and the Masonic Temple and proceeded to thrill the city residents with his death defying walk. Many early Casper residents can recall this famous tight rope walk in those days. About 1916" in When Casper was a Sunday School Town, 1888-1916. [Casper, Wyoming]: Wyoming Antique Press, [1976?].
The Bruce H. Thompson and Connie F. Bryant Collection is made up of 11 series containing digital scans of print photographs of Wyoming locations, businesses, industries, family photographs, groups, organizations, and events. The majority of the images refer to Casper, Wyoming, in connection with local photographer Fred A. Villnave. The negatives/images were brought to the Western History Center for scanning in 2003 but are not physically in the repository's special collections.
