And I’m back in your city
The world you own
A dome I only glimpse through
Never to exist within
You're the trap I wish I could rewind

2:09 am every night
The plight I flight is my own divine right to
Infiltrate this dome you call home
A metronome consistency of
Back and forth emotions
Every other petal a reason to keep going
Knowing the other shoe always drops
And I’m alone again.

Y>u're the trap I wish I could rewind
2:09 on the clock
And I wish I’d never peered into this
Dome you call a home
I’m running out of air in this basement town
compound of my own design
Where I’m renowned but alone
Because I called another person home
And why?
Why is every other home a doll house
Doubts upon doubts about my own feelings
Forever shouts to the void
And I’m annoyed that
I’ll tell you I’m fine and every night rewind. Live in the past till I feel like I’m dying
But still rewind and rewind
You're the trap I wish I could rewind

2:o^am

2:09 am and maybe
if I distract
This rough patch will leave me detached
Latching to the past
The key to unlocking the mask
I’ll ask for the time and see you once again
Am I searching for this
Or do you haunt like an old friend
Because maybe I’d actually find that kind
Don’t luck with a vulnerable state of mind

This zine of Casper College came together around the
2023 Annual Literary Conference "Wilderness," directed
by Dave Zoby, English Instructor. The publication you are
holding in your hands (or looking at online) reflects the
values of the College—integrity, people, diversity, forward
thinking, community. It would not have been possible
without the work of four Casper College student Service
Learners—Rayna Januska, Zoe von Gunten, Tyler Cooper,
Kassandra Merrell. We are also very glad to have received
the cover photograph made by Devon King. Zoe's
reflection connecting the inspiration wilderness had on
her Service Learning Project for the Bruce
Richards
Lecture with Hua Hsu toward the end
of October—just prior to the Literacy
Conference—connects
seamlessly
with the original aim of this small zine
of Casper College. The photographs
from the Conference appear
courtesy Dave Zoby. The other
photographs are courtesy the
Tom Hough Papers, housed
in the Goodstein Foundation
Library's Special Collections
(Western History Center).
We hope to make more zines
like this during future iterations
of the two events that supported its
creation in 2023. Please enjoy!

During the Casper College Literary Conference
participated in the Bruce Richards event where
created a presentation and display on the effects o
memory and cherished objects. Through my researcf
I found myself stumbling upon the Tom Hough papers
Tom Hough was the editor in chief for the Star Tribune
and an avid lover of nature and wilderness. As I did m'
research and filed through information on Tom Hough
the more I felt that I was going along with him on hi;
wilderness adventures. With the Literary Conference
happening as I did this project, I found myself reflectinc
on the meaning of nature and wilderness and ou
relationship with it. As the years have passed anc
we have evolved as humans, the beauty of nature
has become nothing but green flashes outside a ca
window, a brief glance of orange and purple over the
top of a phone screen, or just a sunset through
p|||k the lens of a camera. Tom Hough was not one
to ignore nature, he plunged deep into it anc
filled his heart and soul with the breeze in the
trees and the wild Wyoming wind, and this i;
something that I have found myself carrying with
me now after this experience. While walking to a class
on the other side of campus I remind myself to stop
and look at the white clouds floating lazily in the sky
On long drives I gaze out the window taking in ever\
small detail I can. Maybe if I'm lucky. I'll see a smal

animal. These moments are vital to human existence
as we are part of nature and remembering that we are
Dart of this ecosystem can bring us back to the roots
af the Earth. The Literary Conference made me more
attuned to the nature aspect of the Hough papers, I
vanted to understand his excitement and joy while he
axplored the vast Wyoming wilderness. I happened to
ead Once Removed written by Elizabeth Bradfield, one
af the poets featured in the Literary Conference, while
vorking. The final part of the her poem "Deliquesce: A
s/leditation In Seven Parts" I believe sums up my new
/lew on the relationship between humans and nature:

The focus of the internship includes the planning and preparing of the GLAM exhibit—the research and application of ownership for Collection Management. Combining these topics creates a role delineation statement for the Collection Management Intern.</text>

<text>1. The beginning of the internship focused on the GLAM exhibit. The exhibit revolved around patterns, order, and chaos. The planning began with the research of the Collection with the archives. This included the Marialyce Tobin travelogs and objects and the Edness Mokler photo albums.

These records need to be documented, including the name and description. Where it's from. What is the provenance and historical background? How it should be cared for, what the materials are, and how it should be handled. How should it be stored/displayed? What is its current location more spasticity where the object/ record is at any given time? These are all taken into consideration.

The next step was to start building up the posible items in the exhibit. What connections between the West Central Wyoming Collection, Edness Moklerls photo albums, and Marialyce Tobin's travel collection?</text>

<text>2. The decision around ownership is evolving and growing day by day. In the current social-political climate, having an understanding and respect for these concerns is nonnegotiable. Due diligence can be defined as the requirement that every step is taken to establish the facts of the artifact before jumping into the course of action. This is precisely the case when identifying the source and history of an item is loaded or acquainted. Not doing so can result in the museum, archives, or collection organization gaining a poor reputation, which is essential when running or participating in fundraising or attracting loans.</text>

<text>3. The role of a Collection Management Intern is to assist in the care, preservation, and organization of objects and records in institutions like museums, libraries, and archives. The role of Collection Management combines the aspects of Archivist and Museum Curator. It's not usually the norm for archives to display their records in an exhibit format, as their main tasks are to organize and protect historical documents and records. After addressing a pretty serious backlog, the repository has identified the power of adopting exhibit-based (online and physical) practices for processing and increasing access to materials at greater levels. Staff have reflected that if not for the insight and research of interns, these practices would not have been combined in such a fashion and collections would not have been put to such great uses.</text>
                </elementText>
                <elementText elementTextId="72014">
<text>Archives work with different formats, such as print/digital records, photographs, videos, maps, and objects. In contrast, a museum curator is more responsible for creating collections, exhibits, and other artifacts displayed in an exhibit. This affects the experience visitors have with the exhibit. Some tasks within this role include documentation, storage, and, in this case, exhibit and display. There are also more conceptual teachings for Collection Management Interns, such as ethical considerations and identifying the preservation needs of materials.

Documentation, at its most basic level, considers what the object is - its name and description, where it's from - provenance and historical background, how it should be cared for - its materials, how it should be handled, how it would be stored/ displayed. Its current location - where the object/record is at any given time. There are different types of documentation that this repository relies on, but all support the discoverability and use of materials by a wide range of users as well as the ongoing administrative needs of those caring for and providing access to them.

Storage and Movement: there are multiple things to take into consideration when discussing the storage of the collection. Sound construction, wind and water resistance, easy access, sufficient security, environmental stability, and stability in general. With materials being used more and more to complement wider institutional programming via exhibits, being able to document the movement of materials and the frequency with which they are used in exhibits well is acknowledge as a key priority. This has resulted in the creation of an exhibit-based registrar that also informs the interpretation of both artefactual and informational materials via a thematic interpretation such as was the case with GLAM 2024.

Exhibitions or displays are an excellent way for a museum/collecting institution to share its collections. This particular repository is also in the process of building it's identify as an archives-museum and is examining ongoing conversations highlighting the similarities between the two types of institutions and the professionals that work within them. Ongoing conversations reflect on how they have been professionally siloed at times. To start assisting the repository with forming this dual identity, some of the work of this internship has been to come up with a research-based role delineation for a Collections Manager Intern that expands the scope of meaningful work that interning students can perform as outlined above. To contribute to the meaningful work of future interns, adding Ownership and Collections Management considerations to the published exhibit planning framework the repository has been using was seen as a necessity too. What follows is a summation of the updated exhibit planning framework.</text>

                <elementText elementTextId="72014">
