Guard officials contacted our committee to see if we would be interested in arranging a tour of the Guard facilities and equipment and observe the changes that have taken place since our classmates were members of the Guard some 35-40 years ago. The College is planning a reunion on Thursday, July 30, for Casper College classes of 1947, 1948 and 1949. Their date was chosen to coincide, but not interfere, with our NCHS reunion, since many of our classmates either attended or had friends attending Casper College and will want to partici­ pate in the College reunion. Ue have all been invited to do so, and in tuim have extended our invitation to those Casper College class members to attend our Friday and Saturday func­ tions . At this time we know the College is planning a Sign-up Break­ fast, a Luncheon, a tour of the College facilities, and an evening Bar-B-Q on campus, followed by group attendance at a play in the new Gertrude Krampert Theatre all of this taking place on Thursday, July 30. ADDED ATTRACTIONS The 1987 version of the Central VJyoming Fair and Rodeo will be in full swing during the weekend of our planned festivities. You may wish to include some of the Fair activities in your plans. Also, for vacation planners, Cheyenne Frontier Days will be the preceding week - July 20-26. Through the media and by word of mouth we plan also to invite NCHS graduates from the classes of 1946 and 1948 to join us during this weekend of fun. It has been a long time since many of us have seen one another, and this reunion will give us a chance to renew old friendships (settle old debts) and have a good time in general. A boatride through beautiful Fremont Canyon will reveal the diverse geology of the region. A MOUNTAIN MAN EXPERIENCE, 1820-1835 Participants will explore the everyday activities of the mountain man including hunting, food preparation, clothing construction and decoration, and shelter building by attending an authentic 1830's "Trapper’s Camp" on Casper Mountain. HISTORIC TALKS AND TREKS Participants will trace the western movement along the Mormon and Oregon Trails with on-site lectures at Fort Caspar, a Mormon river-crossing. Independence Rock, Devil's Gate, Fort Fetterman, and the Douglas Pioneer Museum. He said he'd received a list of people we weren't able to contact and knew about the whereabouts of 2 of them: "Bud" Federer - owns Federer Construction in Cheyenne. Also, Bud would probably know the whereabouts of Howard Rhodes as they were close friends. I couldn't find these names on any of the lists I have — I wonder if this might be a list from NC's Class of '47 Reunion. Landen Director Casper, Wyoming 82601 125 College Drive (307) 268-2266 3 February 1987 MEMORANDUM TO: Dr. Loftin RE: Class Reunion, 1947, 1948, and 1949 On behalf of the Alumni Committee, I am submitting to you bids I have pulled together for the scheduled July 30th, 47, 48, and 49 class reunion. It is our hope to provide these first graduates with a very special day back on the CC campus. In our efforts to welcome people back, we would like to be able to offer them all three meals on campus as well as to have them as our guests at Krampert Theatre that evening for "Guys and Dolls". I have based my proposal on approximately 125 people. As you well know, this number could go either way, depending on actual reservations which I will retrieve along about May. This number could also change depending on whether some of our faculty and staff and their spouses and retired faculty would like to dine with the Alums. I question at this point, just how far we can actually go with financing, if we can offer any of this proposal to the alums, as well as Include our own people. This is true for the play as well, since I under­ stand it will be a community effort rather than solely CC players. I realize as much as we would like to include everyone, and offer our best, that we will have to also work within limits of the CC budget. So, I put before you these ideas, and I would welcome any input you might have. The committee is presently planning guided campus tours and other "no-cost" activities to offer on reunion day. If we are not able to provide part or all of the proposed, then I will immediately get to work contacting the alums with prices, etc. so they will know in advance what their costs will be.
